The Red Chord is a deathcore band from Revere, Massachusetts whose sound incorporates elements of death metal, grindcore and metalcore.

Even though that the band has been labeled as deathcore, Mike has mentioned this, "some people call us a grind band. Some people call us a hardcore band. Some people call us a death metal band. We’re not any of them, really. We’re just sort of a noisy band".

Their name signifies a slit throat and was taken from Alban Berg's opera Wozzeck.
