Info About The Clash Store

The Clash was an English punk rock band formed in 1976. The band primarily consisted of Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon, Terry Chimes, and Nicky Headon. The band had an impact for generations to come, and eventually came to be referred to as “The Only Band That Matters.” They met commercial success with their self-titled album in the UK, but gained international fame, particularly in the United States, with the release of London Calling. The band has since been recognized by their politicized lyrics and rebellious image and attitude.

The Clash merchandise often features photos of the band, usually from the London Calling artwork. Available in The Clash store is several different Clash t-shirts in different sizes. For those looking to spruce up their formal wear, Clash neckties are available. Sought after by fans, the Clash Belt Buckle features the band’s first self-titled album cover. The album, which only cost 4000 pounds to produce, features the well-known single 'White Riot’, and was an instant classic. Finally, the Clash wallet features a hazy gray print with the band’s logo in red, emblematic and metaphorical of the band’s rebellious attitudes and dissatisfaction with the political climate of Britain in the 1970s.

The band began to experience turmoil in the 1980’s when signs of tension began to surface. After Nicky Headen left the band, tension began to form between Jones and Strummer. In 1986, the band ultimately disbanded. Since then, the band has reunited several times to create live albums and tour. In 2003, the band was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in 2004, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the band number 28 on the 100 greatest artists of all time. With these awards, it is easy to see the popularity and influence the band has exerted during their time together.
