The Grateful Dead are an American rock band formed in California in 1965. The band was known for its unique and eclectic style, and combined a number of different musical aspects into its sound. The band had a dedicated following known as the “Deadheads”, who often followed them from concert to concert for several years while the Grateful Dead were touring. The most prominent member of the band, Jerry Garcia, died in 1995. Since then, the band has reunited several times featuring different musicians and under different names, but continues to play Grateful Dead music.
Over the years, the Grateful Dead have created several different iconic images that have graced Grateful Dead merchandise. The most iconic of these is the Steal Your Face skull, featured on the album of Steal Your Face. This prominent logo is featured on several different Grateful Dead t-shirts, as well as Grateful Dead flags and Grateful Dead key chains.
